Catherine Gray, RHIT, CCS, CPC-I, CPC-H,

Catherine Gray has over 20 years experience as a consultant,
coder and auditor at several of the nation's academic medical
centers, government medical centers and multi-specialty physician
practices.  She has provided evaluation and management,
procedural and diagnostic coding education for physicians and their
coding staff.  She is currently a medical billing auditor at Henry
Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan.

She has also developed educational presentations in the areas of
teaching physician documentation requirements, evaluation and
management coding, modifier usage, physician coding compliance
and nephrology.   She is a regular presenter at coding conferences
and local chapter meetings.   She
has been a contributor to the
American Academy of Professional Coders' (AAPC) publication, The
Coding Edge and has been a contributor to JustCoding.com
e-coding news and discussion groups.  

In addition, she has performed concurrent reviews of inpatient
charts in the areas of internal medicine, cardiology, nephrology,
critical care, pediatrics, psychiatry, and emergency medicine for
professional billing.  

She holds an Associate in Science degree from Henry Ford
Community College in Dearborn, Michigan.  She is a Registered
Health Information Technician, a Certified Coding Specialist, a  
Certified Pro
fessional Coder, a Certified Professional Coder-
Hospital,
a Certified Cardiology Coder, a Certified Gastroenterology
Coder
and a Certified Evaluation and Management Coder.  She
served a two year term on the Academy's National Advisory Board
and is an AAPC Approved PMCC Coding Instructor
for the CPC
credential
.  She has also served on the Southeast Michigan Health
Information Association's Board of Directors.


Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of
Professional Coders (AAPC), the American Health Information
Management Association (AHIMA), the Michigan Health
Information Management Association (MHIMA), the Southeast
Michigan Health Information Management Association (SEMHIMA),
